Spirit of Joy! Lutheran Church

Visitors To Spirit of Joy! Lutheran Church

What Do We Believe?

Lutherans believe in the Triune God. God created and loves all of creation -- the earth and the seas and all of the world’s inhabitants. We believe that God's Son, Jesus Christ, transforms lives through his death on the cross and his new life, and we trust that God's Spirit is active in the world.

We are part of God’s unfolding plan. When we gather for worship, we connect with believers everywhere. When we study the Bible or hear God’s word in worship, we are drawn more deeply into God’s own saving story.

The convictions shared by Christians from many different traditions are expressed in statements of belief called creeds.  These ecumenical creeds that Lutherans affirm and use in worship confess the faith of the church through the ages and around the world.  For more information about the Lutheran Church, our beliefs and the creeds, please visit ELCA

What Will I Experience In Worship?
  • At Spirit of Joy! you will experience a traditional order of worship blended with contemporary music with some new and old favorite songs
  • A sharing of the Lord's Supper with fellow baptized brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus whose body is truly present.  All are invited to receive the Lord's Supper who are baptized, confess Jesus to be their Lord and Savior, and trust that Christ is truly present in the meal.  This is God's gift to us!

  • A message from God of "good news" of renewal and encouragement for a weary soul in preaching and teaching
  • A family-oriented experience where both children and adults of all ages are engaged.
  • A multi-media experience in which the order of worship is displayed on two large screens along with the warm glow of candles
  • Children's Church for 3 year olds to 4th graders is intended to help nurture and strengthen the children's relationship with Jesus and the Church.  This time consists of a message/story based on the sermon yet still be kid-friendly and applicable to their life.  It also consists of supporting activities including games, crafts and science experiments.  The children are led out by the Children's Church leader prior to the scripture readings and return before Holy Communion.
